Remarks & Notes
Privately owned, in the moment not operational 4-6-0 steamlocomotive 38 # 3199 on the turntable of the BEM in Nördlingen. The "P 8" locomotive was built in 1921 by the LHW - Linke-Hofmann-Werke Aktiengesellschaft (Breslau) as P 8 "2580 Elberfeld" for the Königlich Preussische Eisenbahnverwaltung (KPEV). From 1925 to 1945 running as 38 # 3199 for the Deutsche Reichsbahn. From 1945 to 1998 in Romania as 230 # 106 of the C.F.R. The locomotive was purchased privately in Romania in April 1998. Since the transfer of the locomotive to Germany required work on the running gear anyway, the operational refurbishment of the locomotive was commissioned in Romania (at the Cluj Napoca [Klausenburg] plant). The refurbishment of the locomotive was completed as early as August 1999 and 38 3199 was presented ready for operation in olive green-red-brown-black livery. The locomotive was transferred to Germany under its own power from October 30 to November 4, 1999, and accepted for operation in Germany on April 16, 2002. From June 14 to 16, 2002, the locomotive participated in the "Festival of Railroads" in Nuremberg and was exhibited under steam at the Nuremberg-Gostenhof depot and demonstrated during the locomotive parade. In winter 2004/05, the locomotive received another boiler inspection. At Whitsun 2007 (from 26 to 28 May), the locomotive was used on the occasion of the anniversary "30 years of the Wutachtal museum railroad" together with other guest vehicles in front of special trains on the Wutachtal museum railroad. After the boiler period expired in April 2009, another boiler inspection was started in Heilbronn on April 24, 2009. The locomotive has been operational again since September 2009. The P8 received a running gear inspection in the winter of 2009/2010. At the end of October 2012, the locomotive participated in the 5th Rottweiler Steam Locomotive Days and unfortunately failed on the second day due to damage. In March 2014, the work on the boiler inspection on the locomotive was completed. On March 20, 2014, the successful hot pressure test of the boiler took place and on March 23, the test run from Heilbronn to Öhringen and back was carried out. On April 12 and 13, 2014, the locomotive participated in the Museum Days at the Bochum-Dahlhausen Railroad Museum. On March 12, 2017, the locomotive was used for a farewell trip from Heilbronn to Crailsheim and back and was subsequently stored in preserved condition. On March 20, 2017, the inspection period for the boiler expired, so further use of the locomotive is not possible for the time being. From March 2020 to November 2021, the locomotive was not accessible to the public in the locomotive shed of the Heilbronn Railway Museum. On November 20, 2021, the locomotive was transferred from Heilbronn to Nördlingen with the help of the V 100 2100.
