| Emergency personnel on the scene after MP15AC 151 hit the ground earlier this morning. RS61 was hauling 9 freight cars west when the lead engine derailed. As per an MTA Police officer on the scene, there were no fatalities or injuries. LIRR service is suspended from Ronkonkoma to Greenport. I was informed by a member of the emergency crew that a broken rail would have to be replaced. I cannot say for certain if that was the cause of the mishap or the result. |
