We’re in the heart of Walking horse country in Bedford County, TN on this hot July evening as CSX Q584-12 (Chattanooga,TN-Nashville,TN) is working hard climbing out of the Duck River Valley just north of the rural community of Normandy, TN. Also nestled in the heart of Walking Horse country is the grueling 7-mile Hill. Unlike Raccoon, and the Cumberland Mountain, 7-mile Hill has earned its spot as a piece of railroad that not only dips down into the Duck River Valley but is very hilly which can be a challenge for a well-built freight with the right amount of horsepower.
