Long Train At The High Falls. The High Falls in Rochester, New York witnessed their first Amtrak Alstom Acela 2 trainset on Wednesday, July 20, 2022. This, the 4th trainset of the 28 set order, took a different route from the previous deliveries, which will use the Norfolk Southern to go geographically northwest to Buffalo, then cover normal Amtrak Empire Service and Northeast Corridor routing via Albany, New York and New York Penn Station to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. As testing continues on the sets that have already been delivered, the future of high speed rail in the northeast United States takes further steps in its evolution.
