A Coney Island-bound Q train is seen bypassing 8th Ave station on the Sea Beach Line. The train will make no stops on the line, skipping directly from 59th St to Coney Island-Stillwell Ave. This train is operating with R46 cars manufactured by Pullman-Standard between 1974 and 1975.
Weekend work between Prospect Park and Atlantic Ave forced the Q to run a very unusual service pattern to and from Coney Island on this weekend, with southbound trains running express via the Sea Beach Line and northbound trains running express via the West End Line. Service between Coney Island and Prospect Park was provided using shuttle trains. |
