As BNSF Railway High Priority Merchandise train H-BARPAS7-18 passes through Kansas City on a long detour as it heads from Barstow CA to Pasco WA, we see Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe SD45-2 5704 on KC Union Statin’s Track 27. This 1973 EMD product was recently saved from the scrapper’s torch and restored to its attractive 1976 Bicentennial paint scheme. IN a few more days, this locomotive will be placed in BNSF Priority UPS-LTL Intermodal train Z-LPKLAC6-22A to be ferried dead-in-train to Los Angeles, California, where it will be stored awaiting a transfer to the Southern California Railroad Museum in Perris once the rail connection is restored.
