On a beautiful summer evening, Norfolk Southern’s Conrail heritage unit is the only unit up front as it leads NS train 12Z (Knoxville, TN-Binghamton, NY manifest) north up the NS Roanoke District through the crop fields of Lynwood, Virginia. The Blue Ridge Mountains provide a backdrop, adding more blue to the photo!
