On the afternoon of July 30th, 2022, Amtrak/CSX P942(30), with P42DC 113 leading a coach and P32AC-DM 710, crosses the Castleton River Bridge towards Coeymans, New York on CSX's Castleton Subdivision. The purpose of the train was to qualify Amtrak crews for a possible detour route between Schodack, NY and Pattersonville, NY via the CSX Castleton and Selkirk Subdivisions. The detour would allow Amtrak to operate east-west service around the usual Empire Corridor routing, which was closed due to a partial collapse of the infamous Central Warehouse building in downtown Albany.
