The pictures on Railpictures.net usually show locomotives, trains and landscapes etc., but as we all know, railroads don't run without people who operate them, maintain the tracks, operate the locomotives, take care of the passengers, etc. So I dedicate my 14000th photo on Railpictures to all those who ensure safe, smooth and flowing traffic. At Häusernmoos station of the Emmentalbahn, between Huttwil and Sumiswald-Grünen, stokers and drivers of the two steam locomotives, the trainmaster and the stationmaster lined up to make a night photo event possible for P.M. and about 40 photographers. The people are of Dampfbahn Bern (DBB), Verein Historische Eisenbahn Emmental (VHE) and the co-operative Museumsbahn Emmental. The locomotives are Ed 3/4 # 2 of the VHE and Ed 3/4 # 51 of the DBB.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
