| Heavy 0-8-0 T cogwheel steamlocomotive HG 4/4 # 704 of the Dampfbahn Furka Bergstrecke on the turntable of Furka DFB station, on 2160 meter a.s.l. The 800 HP locomotive was built in 1923 by the SLM for the french Indochina (today Vietnam) and was brought back to Switzerland in 1990 more or less as scrap. Beautufully restored by the workshop of the DFB in Chur/Uzwil and operational since 2018. The sister locomotive # 708 is in advanced restoration at the Uzwil workshop and will possibly come to the Furka in summer 2023. |
