Remarks & Notes
A Laurinburg and Southern Railroad engineer onboard LRS #9528 pulls a string of tank cars out of the CSX interchange in the summer of 2013. The locomotive was built in 1972 as Penn Central EMD SW1500 #9528. Upon the formation of Conrail, it became CR #9528. It was sold in the mid-1990s to Gulf & Ohio Railways where it served for the Atlantic and Gulf Railroad and later the Knoxville & Holston Rver Railroad before being moved to the Laurinburg and Southern. With the arrival of former Norfolk Southern MP15Cs, I am not sure of its current disposition.
