A westbound intermodal train departs Green River after a crew change, passing the large depot that still stands. I was inspired to stop on the famous "railfan bridge" while on a family vacation, mostly because of a Victor Hand photo I'd seen in "Union Pacific Mainline West," which was one of my favorite railroad photography books as a kid. His photo had a GP30 and a couple of DD35 B units, but Green River is still a great place to watch trains with the iconic cliffs in the background and lots of activity in the yard.
