Remarks & Notes
An unusual sight in several ways: NS train 378 crosses the Chattahoochee River into Columbus, Georgia, with a block of 30 new Florida East Coast rock hoppers (built July 2022), loaded with coal off the Birmingham Terminal Railroad, headed for delivery along the FEC. The NS Central of Georgia district rarely sees coal loads or FEC cars, but there sure was a healthy cut towards the rear of this day's train.

Coal and steel don't go bad. This album features long, slow, heavy freight trains; drag freights, slop freights, dead freights, etc. Trains with lots of power, and lots of different cargo slogging along behind.
