Meet Me At The Clock. The most popular spot to rendezvous in New York City is the clock on top of the information booth at MTA Metro-North Railroad's Grand Central Terminal. It was built by the Self Winding and Seth Thomas Clock Companies in 1913. Pre-pandemic almost 3/4 of a million people a day utilized some part of the terminal complex, and with the arrival of Grand Central Madison, the number could be even higher in the future. On Thursday, December 1, 2022, workers were replacing the hands on the south facing clock (there are four, one facing each direction) at about 1700, so the time reflected here is accurate. All of the clocks in Grand Central are synchronized every second by a signal from an atomic clock at the naval observatory in Bethesda, Maryland.
