Along the Bay: A Vancouver, BC to Portland, OR manifest rolls along the shores of Puget Sound through the Fairhaven district of Bellingham, WA on a sunny fall afternoon. While BNSF's Bellingham Subdivision is currently the only active railroad in this area, Bellingham was once home two three major railroads. The walking trail over the water, seen in the background on the left, roughly follows the alignment of the Northern Pacific Railroad shipping pier.
