Remarks & Notes

CPR's FM-CLC Trainmasters were mostly assigned to Western Canada. However, in the 1960's and early 1970's there was always one assigned to St. Luc Yard in Montreal. Its usual assignment was to run transfers between St. Luc Yard and Hochelaga Yard which was at the bottom of a nearly 2.0% grade. The 2400 HP Trainmasters were known for their low speed lugging power and ideally suited to pull heavy trains up Hochelaga Hill. On a cold winter's day the transfer's crew is switching their train.
