Railroading In Transition. KCS 4193 (SD70ACe) and EMDX 7218 (SD70AH-T4, 2020) were just two of the seven engines setting up a manifest train at the Kansas City Southern yard in Heavener, Oklahoma on August 12, 2021. This pair of EMDs was built only a few years apart, but demonstrate the transition to models with that meet Tier 4 emissions requirements by Progress Rail. KCS is also a railroad undergoing change as shareholders voted in favor of a merger with Canadian Pacific but that is awaiting Surface Transportation Board approval. The matching logo on the fuel tank in the background adds to the scene.
From a hint of "Bee" (NKP 765), colorful "Bees" (KCS), "Bees" w/ "attitude", to "Bees" that "sting" your eyes, in their own way they have "Bee" on display! Equipment that "Buzzes" with Yellow & Black colors! ("Bees" can still "Bee" entering this "hive"!)
