Not a common sight on the main network of the Rhaetian Railway. The dual power (electro 1000 V DC and diesel) locomotive Gem 4/4 # 801 "Steinbock/Capricorn", usually in service on the Bernina line for the infrastructure and with the snow blower, is on a driver training run on the line through the Engadine. The train 9931 from Scuol-Tarasp to Samedan with 3 empty Xa-u cars # 8761ff for the transport of used ballast left La Punt Chamues-ch after a crossing with train 1940 and is heading towards Bever, the Gem 4/4 running in diesel mode. The locomotive was built in 1966 by SLM, SWS, BBC and MFO and modernised in 2000 by the RhB, with two new Cummins prime movers with 709 kW each.
