On a very rainy St. Patrick's Day 2014, crews of two Lanaster and Chester trains have combined to bring a cut of cars on the wye track that leads to the "new" CSX interchange that was built in 1983. LC 12 will also take one of the locomotives from the wye train as there is a grain train waiting at the Norfolk Southern interchnge for Circle S Feed Mill. I felt sympathetic to the railroaders having to work in such harsh elements while i shot from inside my car. And while I was bummed at the lack of sunshine oon these days, my opinion is that shooting the trains in the rain did allow me to get some good, gritty photographs that day.
L&C 3820 was built in 1966 as Detroit, Toledo & Ironton #201. After that, it was Grand Trunk Western #6201 and later Grand Trunk Western #4995. It then became RTEX #4995 where they refurbished it and painted it for the L&C. It was delivered to it's new home without decals on the long hood. It has since left L&C rails and is now working on the Mississipi Export Railroad wth a new number and paint.
