| As a local Norfolk Southern train accesses the old Southern Railway R Line in Columbia, South Carolina, Union Pacific power waits to finish running around the wye downtown to turn their power so it can lead a train cab first instead of long hood forward. UP 4081 is an EMD built in November 2000. Meanwhile, NS 8784 was C40-9 built by General Eletric in 1995. Norfolk Southern retired her in 2017 and rebuilt her to NS AC44C6M 4050, The 8784 is leading NS P75 to Amick Farms with some grain. |
