Freshly repainted Union Pacific AC4400CW 6474, teamed with three ES44ACs (UP 8090, UP 8250 and KCS 4680), brings train MOGWC-15 into the West Colton Yard, its destination, from Ogden, Utah. UP 6474 wears the latest version of UP's classic paint scheme, now without the large American flag on the hood or the winged-shield nose logo. A glitch, perhaps, but this engine retains the lightning stripe along the top of the long hood, which is no longer part of the paint scheme. And, curiously, the lettering typeface applied to this diesel is not the standard UP Gothic – Note the flat "points" on the Ns, the higher-than-normal horizontal bar on the A, shorter horizontal bars on the F, and less-circular Cs with a larger opening, as well as the varying stroke width on the letters. Compare this lettering with that on UP SD40-2 1609 in the yard power on the adjacent track. (Colton, California – February 19, 2023)
