nKosi*
noun:
Southern African a term of address to a superior; master; chief
On a warm February day, South Africa welcomed back the now only operational class 15F, No. 3117.
At an open day event, attended by the public and directors of Wonder Steam Trains, No. 3117 - over 240 tons of raw power - was reintroduced to the public, and unveiled with the name 'nKosi'. A very befitting name to a powerful and mighty locomotive.
Following the open day, Stimela Photographic Events had the pleasure of hosting a fully-booked photographic charter with 3117.
Here we see nKosi beneath the Tshwane (Pretoria) night sky.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
