"Capricorn" ABe 4/16 # 3111 "Piz Ela" of the Rhaetian Railway (first of the series of # 3111 to # 3166) is leaving Chur station square, to the service station Untersax on the Arosa line as test train 9435, probably for adhesion tests. The 25,6 kilometer long Arosa line of the Rhaetian Railway was opened in 1914 by the Chur-Arosa Railway electrified with 2400 V DC and grades up to 6.0 %. In 1942 taken over by the Rhaetian Railway and in 1997 changed to 11000 V AC 16,7 Hz like the main network. The trains to Arosa are leaving from the station square, in front of the station building, track 1 or 2. Note the road sign on the right, which says "Steinbockstrasse". Steinbock is Capricorn, like the designation of this train type!
