Remarks & Notes
Ge4/4ii 618 of the RhB crosses the impressive Langweiser Viaduct while working the 1117 Arosa - Chur on Sunday 26th February. The viaduct is the most significant engineered feature on the line and the biggest bridge of all those on the RhB network. Dating from 1914 it carries the railway 62m above the Plessur river below. At the time of its construction it was the longest railway bridge in the world. Loco hauled trains are something of a rarity on the Arosa line currently, this service has been running over the winter months as an additional to the normal timetable for extra ski traffic. More photos from this trip are in my full trip report at http://trains-today.blogspot.com/2023/03/milan-to-zurich-via-swiss-alps-24-28th.html
