| The self propelled diesel infrastructure dyagnosis vehicle XTmass 160 # 001 "Roger" of the SBB, built by MerMec/Italy, is on a test run through Winterthur Tössmühle. The yellow apparatus in the front track is an acoustic measuring station. This records the noise of the axle bearings. Untypical noises can indicate defects in good time and the vehicles or axle bearings can be examined more closely. All passing vehicles are measured, but only SBB Passenger Traffic uses the data for the maintenance of its trains. |
