BNSF 5080 holds a stack/vehicle train along Lake Onalaska at Onalaska, WI. The lake is formed by the confluence of the Black River with the Mississippi River just north of La Crosse, WI. The crew is waiting to end their run from the Twin Cities to North La Crosse, and about a half hour after this photo was taken, the yard cleared a spot and this train proceeded in for the crew change. Meantime, three more eastbound trains were stopped and stored between Winona Jct. and Nelson, WI, essentially making BNSF a single track railroad this day.
