As the sun rises over the horizon near Rock Island, OK on Monday, April 10, 2023, local train RHV106 - the "Fort Smith Dodger" - heads east on the Fort Smith branch line. The merger between Canadian Pacific and Kansas City Southern will take effect this Friday, bringing the KCS name to an end after 136 years. I feel very fortunate to have lived in this region for the last couple of years, presenting me with countless opportunities to photograph the "Southern Belle" paint scheme in and around the Ozarks.
