| A CSX worker observes CSX 6539 sitting in the trackside gravel a couple days after an eastbound train derailed two locomotives and 20+ cars at CP 37 in Wellington, Ohio. The 6539 was left upright but on the ground at the wreck site and would sit in this spot for several weeks waiting for a new axle. Both main tracks had been reopened by this time, and an eastbound autorack train was crawling through the wreck site in the distance at about 10mph. Photo taken from a public road crossing before the crossing lights came on. |
