| Due to ease of access, this was no doubt the most photographed railroad subject in New Jersey over the course of a gloomy April weekend. NS 1700 spent the weekend parked at this location just east of the Lakeview Ave overpass in South Plainfield. The Erie Lackawanna heritage unit was assigned to Conrail ballast extra OI-95 which had been working along the Lehigh Line between CP Potter and CP Port Reading Jct. The area immediately behind the train was once the location of Lehigh Valley's South Plainfield depot. The lead to South Plainfield Yard extends southward into the haze beyond 1700.
