I had just reached Meridian Rd (Idaho State Highway 69) when I was told they had departed, so up to I-84 and westward I went. They ended up stopping in the north pass in Ontario (of the two sidings in Ontario, the 'North Pass' is compass east), which gave me ample opportunity to get ahead - but I wasn't sure how ahead I was, and given the mistake I made with our previous KCS leader a week ago (a navigational error that saw me missing the train on the move by about five minutes), I wasn't taking any chances, and took I-84 all the way to Farewell Bend, OR, got gas, then followed Highway 201/US 95 Spur back to Weiser - where the train showed up. Signals were all dark in Weiser when I arrived, so I decided to push down 95 out of town - when I spotted a red signal, the other side of which was green, and then a headlight. Pulled a U turn, and the chase was on. After shooting the train in Weiser, Huntington, and Durkee, my next spot was here at the upper end of Oxman Loop where, this time of year, one could almost mistake parts of the terrain for the lead locomotive's home territory of Mexico...
