| Spectators gather around the track as an afternoon commuter train makes its way through Shifen Old Street. To my knowledge, this is the only sort of frequent "street running" operation in Taiwan. This part of the line includes dramatic scenery and a glimpse of history as the train passes by abandoned gold mines, temples, and waterfalls. |
