Remarks & Notes
The Galveston Railroad museum’s (https://galvestonrrmuseum.org/santa-fe-warbonnets/) two F-7 locomotives were built by General Motors’ Electro-Motive Division in 1953. The locomotives served on railways including Southern Pacific, the Port of Allegheny Railroad, and the Connecticut Department of Transportation before coming to the museum in 2011 as a replacement to #100 and #200 lost to Hurricane Ike. The Burlington Northern Santa Fe granted the museum permission to use Santa Fe’s iconic red and yellow “Warbonnet” Scheme to commemorate the passenger train, Texas Chief.
