Remarks & Notes
On December 20th, 2022 Norfolk Southern 3601 was the third locomotive in 26C’s consist that derailed due to a semi truck hauling a concrete beam for a new bridge being built in Collegedale, Tennessee. When the train struck the beam, it derailed instantly and ripped up rails. The lead locomotive landed in a creek and spilled fuel in the water. It took only a few days for the track to be reopened and operational. It took over a month to get all the locomotives and rail cars to get cleared from the accident site.
