Returning to the Rockaways.
As the sun gets low on the evening of August 13, 2023, New York City Transit Authority (NYCTA) R6 no. 1000 (ACF, 1935) is the lead motor on a 6-car train of R1-9 "Arnines" cars headed back to Rockaway Park Yard, seen here approaching Beach 108th St. At this point Rockaway Freeway emerges from below the elevated structure, while the latter begins to descent to the at-grade terminal and yard at Rockaway Park.
