On August 10, a northbound freight train derailed in the 57-kilometer-long Gotthard Base Tunnel, and since then both tubes have been closed. All passenger traffic, as well as freight traffic that can pass through the smaller profile, travels via the Gotthard mountain route, today also called the panorama route. Re 620 # 067 (Re 6/6 # 11667) and Re 420 # 288 (Re 4/4 II # 11288) of the SBB in multiple control are running light over the Gotthard mountain line between Wassen and Gurtnellen as train 38052 from Biasca to Altdorf.
