Bombardier TRAXX F140 AC1 185 # 113 and # 118 of the Deutsche Bahn in multiple control pull the northbound freight train 45016 from Chiasso Smistamento (shunting yard) over the Gotthard moutain line to Basel and Mannheim shunting yard, through Wassen. The gross weight of the train is about 1380 tons. Both locomotives are 20 years in service now. The train is operated by SBB Cargo in Switzerland, from Chiasso to Basel. This is the same train (# 45016) which derailed in the Gotthard Base Tunnel on august 10, 27 days before. Since the capacity in the now used east bore is limited, some freights are rerouted over the moutaiin line, as well as all passenger trains.
