When Eras Collide - As the sun rises upon Downtown LA, the 1927 built ATSF 3751 begins its two mile shove movement along the Los Angeles River from Amtrak's north yard to Union Station for the 2023 Trainfest event. With new buildings being erected in an ever-changing LA skyline, one structure remains nearly untouched - The historic 4th Street Viaduct. The 1931 built bridge connecting Downtown LA with Boyle Heights is recognized as a historical cultural monument, with the only modernization being retrofitting for earthquake safety. Together, the steamer and bridge piece together a partial puzzle into what this scene may have looked like over 90 years ago.
