Canadian Pacific Kansas City runs a local freight to Rochester, MN several days a week. The local originates at the yard in Waseca, MN and runs east towards Winona, MN as far and as often as business demands require. This CPKC line starts at Winona, MN, on the Mississippi River and runs due west through Rochester, Waseca and all the way west to Rapid City, SD, with a very short “tail” into Wyoming. The portion west of Tracy, MN, 700 miles long, was sold to Genesee & Wyoming RR and is operated as the Rapid City, Pierre & Eastern RR. It was originally C&NW, then Dakota, Minnesota & Eastern, then eventually to CP. The local is seen here westbound in Rochester after servicing the Seneca Foods warehouse.
