In the night 19/20 January 2023 there was a fire in the locomotive depot of the SBB in Schaffhausen. The building has been leased for many years to the company DLM (Dampflokomotiv- und Maschinenfabrik), which has a total of 4 steam locomotives stored there. The two fireless steamlocomotives E 3/3 T 380 # 002 and # 001 are still standing, damaged by the fire, in front of the locomotive depot in Schaffhausen. When they came to Switzerland in 2010, they were in working order and were presented to various potential customers for purchase or lease, but no contract was ever signed. Now the fate of the two locomotives is uncertain.
