A railroad crew member appears to be tying down his train in Hamlet, North Carolina with Helms Leasing 6500 on lead. I suspect this train was heading to the Aberdeen, Carolina and Western Railway. HLCXX 6500 was built by EMD in 1968 as Pennsylvania Railroad (PRR) SD45 6221, to Penn Central (PC) 6221, to Conrail (CR) 6221. Eventually it was sold to Chicago & Northwestern as CNW 6544. Later Helms Leasing picked it up and rebuilt it to SD40M-3 specs and numbered it HLCX 6500.
