New signals are almost ready to be cut into service at Union on BNSF's Brush Sub. Since BNSF taking over the maintenance from the UP on the section from Union to Sterling, new signals are being put up to replace the old searchlight signals. Within the next month, this section of railroad will become CTC; resulting in the end of ABS and track warrants on the Brush Subdivision. Here, a Buckskin Mine, WY to Smithers Lake, TX coal train enters the CTC territory as it heads west towards Brush.
