Remarks & Notes
The austrian railways ÖBB ordered 18 new fire fighting and rescue trains from StadlerRail for the infrastructure department. The first built train X122 # 001 (99 81 9173 007-1) is on a test run 32251 from Sulgen to Oberaach, running through Erlen. The power of this 3 car "ServiceJet" is 4000 Hp from the overhead wire (15000 V 16,7 Hz AC), 1060 Hp from diesel motors or 280 kW from a battery, maximum velocity is 160 km/h. In the middle car are up to 40'000 liter water. There are 4 jet fans on the roof to protect the emergency services and the Servicejet against smoke and high temperatures. A filter system cleans the air and overpressure prevents smoke from entering. This so-called protective ventilation ensures a protected interior for the operating personnel, the emergency services and the people being evacuated. Thermal imaging cameras also help to better identify people in a smoky environment.
