On January 23, 2024, Amtrak Keystone train 600 suffered a mechanical failure in New Jersey on its way to New York. Amtrak KN720 was dispatched to rescue the train with GP15D locomotives 574 and 570. The pair pulled the stricken train up to Newark Penn Station, where ACS-64 no. 662 was waiting to take over for the remainder of the trip to New York Penn.
Here we see 662 and train 600 sitting on Tracks A and 1, respectively, at Newark Penn Station. These tracks are typically both used by NJ Transit, while Track 2 is typically used for eastbound Amtrak trains.
