A Little Rock & Western Railway northbound freight, LRWN 101-10, crosses the Arkansas River on the Union Pacific's Baring Cross drawbridge. (While operating on the UP, this train's symbol is UP LNLNLJ-10.) Arkansas Midland Railroad GP38M-2 2502 and LRWN GP38-3 2152 are in charge of this train – both railroads are part of parent company Genesee & Wyoming's operations here in the state. AKMD 2502 is a former GP35, ex-KRR 3502, ex-TOE D22, ex-WEYX 308, ex-SP 6626, née-SP 7729. LRWN 2152, meanwhile, was a GP38 with this history: ex-KRR 3862, ex MNA 3862, ex-TNER 3862, ex-TNER 5060, ex-CSX 2060, née-CO 3860. The Baring Cross Bridge was built by Missouri Pacific Railroad in 1929 (replacing an earlier bridge destroyed in a flood), with the lift span added in 1967. Arkansas' Capitol Building looms in the distance. (North Little Rock, Arkansas – April 10, 2024)
