Blues and Budds.
On Saturday, July 20, 2024 the Housatonic Railroad operated a special train from the Berkshire Scenic Railway Museum in Lenox, MA to the Canaan Union Station in North Canaan, CT, hauling the last remaining cars of the experimental 6-car Roger Williams trainset down for the Cannan Railroad Days event. Leaser locomotives GMTX 2627 and 2142 provided the power for the train, with NH 140, 141, and 162 dead in tow. Knowing this would be a historic event that would be popular with photographers, the museum and railroad graciously planned a handful of photo stops along the way, during which the locomotives were uncoupled to allow photos of the historic New Haven Railroad trainset on its own. This scene near Sheffield, MA shows the entirety of the unusual consist - which prompted many passersby to stop and have a look!
