Five years ago the Union Pacific's Big Boy engine #4014 stopped in Denver in what would be the final overnight stop before arriving back in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Mother Nature threw a curve by slamming the Colorado Front Range with a huge snowstorm, at times limiting visibility to less than a mile. It was all hands-on deck as switches in the UP's massive North Yard had to be de-iced before the Big Boy could move slowly out of the yard and onto the main line back to Wyoming.
