The self-propelled 0-6-0+0-6-0 steam snow blower Xrot d # 9213 of the Rhaetian Railway, built in 1910 by SLM Winterthur as R # 1051 for the then independent Bernina Railway, has been preserved as a historic vehicle. Until 2020, demonstration trips with the impressive machine were carried out in winter in the area of the Bernina Pass at around 2250 meters above sea level. Then a comprehensive overhaul was due. A single employee of the Rhaetian Railway refurbished the Xrot d # 9213 at the Pontresina depot and it is now complete. The snow blower is on a load test run on a grade of 7.0 % (maximum on the Bernina line) between Pontresina and Surovas, with the greatest success.
