Remarks & Notes
Stabilization Work Continues. Former New York Central "T Motor" T-3a 278 (Alco, GE 1913-1926) and "S Motor" S-1 100 (Alco/GE, 1904) arrived at The Danbury Railway Museum in January, 2024/ After a career on the electric zone of the New York Central Railroad, the Mohawk & Hudson Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society gained ownership of the pair and had once upon a time cosmetically restored these motors and saved them from scrap, even returning to Grand Central Terminal for a movie shoot. Subsequently losing their storage arrangement with the Delaware & Hudson Railroad, they came to a track at the power plant in Glenmont, New York, and were then displaced again to a spur that became cut off from the rest of the railroad. In recent years, the Port of Albany acquired this land to be redeveloped, and they were moved to their new home. The body and the trucks are being worked on separately, but will be joined again when stabilization work has been completed.

Day At The Danbury Railway Museum For The 30th Anniversary. On Saturday, August 24, 2024, the museum held events all day specifically for photographers. This included the first views of the re-painted body of New York Central S-1 100, which was brought to the museum earlier this year and has seen a tremendous amount of work towards stabilization and ultimately restoration. The museum plans to hold more events for photographers in the future.
