Remarks & Notes

Santa Fe SW9s 2424 and 2422 work the railroad's Hobart Yard in Vernon, just south of downtown Los Angeles. Each of these two locomotives was built in May 1953. Each would also be renumbered and rebuilt as SSB1200s (2424 became 1424, and then 1224, for example) and each also was traded to Amtrak for SDP40Fs, with 2424 becoming AMTK 557 and 2422 ending up as AMTK 555.
