| A day after the tragic shooting on the campus of NIU, the UP ran an inspection special east through DeKalb with the DD40X and 10 cars. The tall building in the background to the right of the coal chute is the Holmes Student Center, several hundred feet away from where the shooting occurred. Catching this train was a nice diversion from the mood seen on campus. |
